I haven't had enough time to do any electronics projects in the past month. I just wanted to post to say, I'm not dead! In the next month or two I will be working on a pretty big project. I am only going to say that it involves my bedroom being turned into a computer! Well, that's all for now (if anyone actually reads this).

Bench-Puter Update

Here is another bench puter update. I aded LEDs to a cool box, so every time you press one of the buttons on the processing sketch, the corresponding LED turns on. Pretty cool! Video demonstration and pictures:

Bench-Puter Update

This update for the bench puter is different. I completely chucked all the hardware and started fresh. I used a firmata sketch with arduino and processing to talk to the arduino from the computer. Now, all I have to do is open the application on the desktop and press the buttons on it to turn the arduino pins on and off. Pretty simple! Here is a picture of the application:

Bench-Puter Update

This post doesn't have any pictures. Just a quick update. I am giving up on the current design of the bench-puter project. Although, I am not giving up on the project. I just got a laptop for my birthday and I am going to rebuild it using just the laptop and the arduino. I just thought that it would be foolish to continue it with hardware while I have a laptop that could control it. I will post an update on it in a few days.

555 timer on/off switch with momentary button

This is another quick 555 timer project I made. It takes a momentary signal from the button press and it converts it to an on signal. Press the button again and it turns it off. Definitely a useful circuit.

My First 555 timer Circuits

I recently made a few 555 timer circuits successfully. The reason I say successfully is because I have never been able to get them working in the past. All because I had the pinout all wrong. Now that I got them working, they are really cool. The first one is a bi-color LED alternating between its two colors. The second one is supposed to be a "ticking bomb" sound but it sounds more like a heartbeat. That's it on 555 timers for now but I still have a couple more ideas so stay tuned.

Bench-Puter Update

Here is a video of my bench-puter. I have added a start-up tone, knock detecting on switch, and labels. I did not take pictures, only a video.
